This is a letter I wrote to one my nephews as he went on a spiritual retreat. I hope you enjoy reading this and that you will join my in practicing this commitment to loving life, and the precious people in our lives….

Dear Will,

As you go through life, be sure to take time to realize the beautiful miracles within each day. Perhaps it is a conversation with a dear friend; a positive grade; a fun, spirited event at college; or the positive feeling which wells up within us when we compliment or encourage others.

Remember that people trump business deals. Relationships rule over crossing the finish line. A heartfelt word to a stranger wins over being published. \”Being accomplished and successful\” is being your best self, giving to others, each day. It is not a promotion or climbing up the \”ladder.\”

Of course, always do your best. We want you to achieve and excel, as you already have in creative writing, baseball and football. But along the way, the little and big kindnesses and care of others is what makes a successful life. That is heaven, here and in the future.

Love you dearly. I hope this helps guide you from the little I have learned. Love!

Aunt Pammie
