“Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’”
-Mary Anne Radmacher
It\’s beautiful. Sometimes, courage can be quiet.
Courage is not always a fanfare of climbing mountains, or of being strong when you feel afraid. It\’s not just being an activist and taking a stand for a cause. Courage must be strong, but it\’s not always front page news.
But it might be \”front page news\” for you. Is there something you are working on, that hasn\’t resolved itself, and you must persevere? Courage, then, can relate to the long-term.
Sometimes, we have a longstanding issue we are working on in life. Perhaps it\’s a relationship that seems to have troubled you, or the book you\’d like to write that keeps hanging on. Perhaps it\’s not urgent by society\’s standards, but it is important to your personal peace of heart.
It\’s time to be gentle on yourself, and rest. Tomorrow is another day, and another opportunity. You will find your way, bit by bit, to have the gentle courage you need.

Mary Anne Radmacher is an author, artist and professional speaker who has enjoyed various forms of “scribbling” since she was two. Her first performance art piece involved a permanent black marker and a bright yellow wall in her family’s breakfast nook, which earned less-than-stellar reviews, but she didn’t let that deter her. In second grade, her adventure into poetry began and teachers encouraged her innovative ways. In fourth grade, she discovered the profound pleasure of sending and receiving mail and began dreaming of the day when she would start her own greeting card company.
Twenty years later, her dream came true with her company Mary Anne Radmacher, Inc, which include her greeting cards (containing messages such as \”Begin each day as if it were on purpose” and \”Change, of any sort, requires courage\”) and her books Honey in Your Heart and Simply an Inspired Life: Consciously Choosing Unbounded Happiness in Good Times & Bad (co-written with Jonathan Lockwood Huie). Radmacher currently lives with her husband and their dogs.
